Q1 Tokyo update

November 14th, 2007 by chudoctah

ok, so i’m almost at the 3 month point and i’m finally gettin around to another update.  it looks like this may be a quarterly thing just seein how crazy work has been (i’ll get to that later).  so buckle up cuz this is gonna be a long one.  just like the good old updates when i was in china rite!  so here we goooo, let’s start with probly my favorite topic in the world:

FOOD
the eats here are absolutely amazing.  i never realized how many different types of japanese food there actually are.  the most amazing thing here is the sheer number of restaurants and small izakayas (restaurants where u go to eat and drink).  one block in my neighborhood will literally have at least 12 restaurants from the basement level up thru the 10th floor.  so options are a plenty.  and honestly it’s not as expensive for food here as i expected.  in a lot of cases it’s cheaper than new york.  it’s really only once you start ording drinks, then it can get a little pricey.

the quality is usually really good too.  and they just don’t use as much oil and butter here like us fatty fat americans do.  when i went back to ny for an emergency trip in sept my family all said i’ve actually lost weight!  i guess i got a lil chubs from this past summer of absolute gluttony in LA  :)  another cool thing about tokyo is all the different types of food here.  indian, mexican, italian (they are crazy about pasta and pizza here), french, jewish deli’s, kabob places, and of course, the american chains (outback steakhouse, TGIFridays, mcd’s, kfc, subway, domino’s, shakey’s pizza!).

just a few highlights among many:
- gonpachi: the restaurant that was the model for the big fight scene in kill bill where uma thurman took out the 88 dragon gang.  really cool set up and great skewers.
- midori sushi: great sushi at a reasonable price
- kaiten sushi: there’s this one conveyor belt sushi joint by my place that’s sooo cheap and actually good
- 7/11’s: yes, the convenience store.  seriously one of the best stores in japan.  i could live out of 7/11’s here.

i do try to cook when i actually have some time.  but so far i’ve only cooked 4 times, haha!  3 out of the 4 i cooked gyoza and the 4th time i cooked fried rice.  but it is always more satisfying eating your own cooking rite?  but i do want to try as many restaurants as possible.  i’m on a 3-4 new restaurants/week pace rite now.  that’s just how many places there are and more!

WORK
the bane of my existence for the past 3 weeks.  for such an advanced culture it’s amazing to see the inefficiencies in corporate japan.  biggest issue i have is obivously the work schedule.  people usually get in between 930 - 10am.  some even later than that.  then they work all night to as late as 10pm (like i did last night, on a friday) and some even later.  whereas in america, i’d prefer to go in early to try to leave early.  and people don’t like to leave before their boss because that may "look bad".  even if they don’t have work to do, they’ll just wait till the boss goes first!

then most of the ’salary man’ basically white collar, salary based corporate workers http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salary_man head out to the izakaya’s to drink, eat and blow off some steam.  but then some don’t even go home to their families!  they would crash at a nearby capsule hotel or internet cafe, then get up the next morning and go back to work.  or some don’t even make it to a hotel and pass out on the sidewalk or a bench after they’ve painted the ground with what they just ate and drank a few hours earlier.

stress levels are really high here and i can see how unhappy some people are and i feel the family life here isn’t the most healthy.  especially with the breadwinner passin out on the street while their family is at home.  when you take the train you will sometimes see train delay announcements on the screen.  my coworkers tell me that a lot of times that’s because people jump off the platform just as the train is coming to kill themselves.  now this isn’t always work related of course, but i’d be curious as to how many of those are…

anyway, thank god i haven’t been in that situation, even tho i am considered one of the ’salaryman’.  work has been absolutely draining for me.  a month into the project my mgr was replaced by a japanese local mgr, then 2 weeks after they replaced him with me.  so now i’m the project mgr and my workload has since quadrupled and i usually don’t get home till 10pm-ish.

but honestly i did see the insane work hours coming though, that’s why i took the whole summer off to chill.  but it’s pretty intense when you actually go thru it.  so just tryin to take it in stride since it’s a promotion year and if i can pull this off in 7 weeks (i’ve inherited an absolute MESS), then it’ll be a huge case to make mgr.  so we’ll see what happens.  puttin in the dues now.

so after i get home, i usually log back onto my laptop, but this time to hit up espn.com and catch all my sports highlights.  which is a great segway into my next topic…

NEW ENGLAND SPORTS (sorry to those that don’t do sports, but i gotta do this)
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!  what a decade to be a new england sports fan.  that’s one of the biggest things i really miss and sooo wish i was back in boston for this year.  let’s start with of course, the sox.  got a little concerned late in the season when the yanks were so close to catchin us.  even at the beginning of the season when we were 15+ games ahead of them, you can never count out a joe torre team.

in standard yankee fashion, they had role players coming up huge (melky, jabba, etc) and a-fraud just beastin.  but in the end, they still suck.  a-rod is great if you want to do well in the regular season, but an absolute choke job in the playoffs.  then into the playoffs.  we pwned the angels as usual.  i was surprised at how easy that series was especially with the pitching, and mix of power and speed they have.  but again, we pretty much own them, so wasn’t surprised.

then came the indians.  what a series.  the sox were absolutely lifeless when they lost and were down to 3-1.  then came josh beckett.  hands down the best pitcher in baseball rite now.  he set the tone and a david ortiz pep talk shot life back into the team and we ripped off 7 straight wins to our 2nd title in 3 yrs.  and like 2004 the ALCS was the real world series.  the NL is sooooo weak.  i think they should just get rid of the whole NL altogether.  and to finish, we must resign mike lowell.

the frustrating thing was obviously the time difference.  i caught most of the games via espn.com’s gamecast application in the morning’s at work.  needless to say, i was not productive at all on those mornings.  and when i could catch a game on the weekends, it would only be if dice-k was pitching.  and when dice sits and okie is out, they stop broadcasting the game!!!  when that first happened it was game 2 against the angels and they stopped showing the game after okie was done in the 7th and it was 3-3!!!  so i had to watch the rest online, but seeing that little virtual ball go over the green monster for manny’s 3 run bottom of the ninth walk off homer, was just as good as live tv.  i went crazy in my apt, by myself.  it was great!

now to the patties.  2 words, tom brady.  he was nasty with noname receiving cores and pulled out 3 titles without a superstar receiver.  so finally this summer belly took a chance on moss, got some great pick ups (stallworth and welker) to put around brady.  and now we’re 9-0 with one of the most potent offenses in nfl history.  and on the defensive side, the timeless linebacker core is still holdin it down.  and that indy game.  one word, stud.  i think may have an unhealthy man-crush on tom brady.  but how can you not, he is THE man rite now.  if there’s anyone i’d want to be right now, it’s either tom brady or kevin garnett, haha.

now onto the celts.  oh my c’s.  what a facelift danny ainge gave to this team.  you think he finally realized that doc rivers can’t coach and decided just to put 3 superstars around him so he can just pretty much be hands off?  regardless, this team is sick.  as bad as people said the bench was before the season started, i’ve been impressed by the 2nd unit’s play.  but if one of the big 3 gets hurt, we may be in a lotta trouble.  so just prayin they stay healthy.

also, a quick shout out to the new england revolution for that sick bicycle kick win.  let’s hope they can take it all this year.  man, even our soccer team is on fire.  ok, i think i’m done with the sports for now.  sorry, it’s real hard findin someone out here who i can just talk sports, much less new england sports!  next…

SHOPPING
ahh, i’ll admit, one of my favorite metro pastimes.  it’s pretty intense out here.  especially my neighborhood, shibuya, which is considered the young, trendy, fashion area.  what’s great about japan is that anything goes.  u can wear the most insane, clashing outfit, but no one will think anythin of it.  i actually feel like a plain jane out here, haha.  but everyone’s really accepting here and used to whatever.  some of the style here tho is just way overboard for me.  some of the guys look like they jumped out of the final fantasy video games just sans giant sword.  but if you wanna see straight up freaks, head over to harajuku on the weekends and all the high school kids with insane facial piercings and crazy outfits/costumes come out for the attention.

the only thing i’ve really bought so far are a few pairs of sneakers.  pasia/steph you guys REALLY gotta bring an xtra suitcase in march.  the kicks here are siiiick and there’s so much shopping for women out here.  i can’t really buy pants here cuz i can’t even get my thighs into them much less the bootaaay.  but the jackets here are pretty cool.  ok, enough of the metro-ness, next topic…

LIFE IN GENERAL
so monday-friday during my 2-3 free hours when i’m not working or sleeping, i’m eating.  i’ve gotten very familiar with watching tv shows/movies online thanks to http://www.watchtvsitcoms.com (looks like tvlinks.com got taken down, boooo).  youtube has been great too, but i really miss espn.  i do catch up on all the highlights, but it’s the lack of sportscenter that’s killin me.

i also just downloaded sudoku on my mobile.  and i’m hooked.  i can’t wait to poo just so i can finish off my sudoku game!  ok, sorry for that visual.

on that note i should probly wrap this up.  i know this wasn’t a very interesting update, more of me just rambling, haha.  anyway, hope all is well with everyone.  GO SOX, PATS and CELTS!!!

love u chu family!

peace,

tokyo apt virtual tour

August 26th, 2007 by chudoctah

so i forgot to post my new tokyo address:

Eric Chu
FLEG Shibuya
Room #601
14-9 Maruyamacho Shibuyaku Tokyo

the following is a list of videos of my virtual tour of my place.  and as a correction to my last update, it’s not 102 sq. ft, i mistakenly just multiplied 31 sq meters by 3, when it should have been squared, so it’s actually about 333 sq ft, haha!

you can access the videos below or use this url:

tokyo, i have arrived

August 20th, 2007 by chudoctah

ok, so i’m finally in tokyo!!  I arrived on Saturday night and took an hour shuttle bus from narita airport to my apt in the shibuya district.  It’s been an intense 2 days so far.  I spent all day Sunday wandering the neighborhood and taking in my new surroundings.  It’s absolutely steaming hot here.  I sweated off my 10 lbs of water weight in no time.

Anyway, I’m still working on getting a mobile # out here as well as getting a house phone for my apt.  I have a “virtual” US number that you all can dial that will only cost me 4cents/min at my apt.  it will also forward to my cell if I’m not home, but that’ll cost 15cents/min, but don’t let that dissuade you from calling to say hi!  The number is 1-310-873-2814.  still having some issues setting it up, but that’ll be the number you can dial from the states, I’m hoping to have it up and running by end of this week the latest.  If I don’t pick up at all, it should go to voicemail though.

As for my friends outside of the US, I have opened a Skype account, my skype name is chudoctah (what a surprise).  I’m usually logged on during the evening here so shoot me a note if you see me online and wanna chat.

My apartment is really nice and pretty big by Tokyo standards (31 sq. meters, so about 102 sq. feet, haha).  It’s fully furnished, amenities, etc.  check the website if  you’re curious for details.  I’ll post a video on youtube or something so you can see it ”live”. http://www.executivemonthly.com/english/fulldetails.php?property_id=4#propout

So now I’m on day 2 at work.  Monday was fine and I’m now in the process of talking to a couple managers about getting staffed on a project with AXA (huge European insurance company) doing some CRM related work for them.

I’ll also try to keep a blog going while I’m out here.  I actually started it earlier this summer, so check it out at http://chudoctah.blogs.friendster.com/my_blog/  I’ll probably be using this moreso than update emails now, as it’s just a lot easier and I won’t have to filter thru tons of email addresses.  And it will keep me from adding to your inbox junk mail, so bookmark my blog baby!

Ok, time to get back to work, haha!  Hope all is well and keep in touch!

Peace,
eric

update email

June 22nd, 2007 by chudoctah

hey everyone!

so it has been a VERY long time since my last email
update. actually looking into my old emails, it seems the last update email was
my ‘echu hollywood’ email on 8/30/2005, right before i left for the west coast!
so this one is long overdue. as usual, apologies for the mass email, but i just
have so many friends it’s hard to personalize (yeah right! haha). anyway, i’ll
try to keep this one to a semi-short novel compared to my past updates, but no
promises as i need to cram 1 1/2 yrs worth into this.

so i guess i’ll
start with moving out to to the west coast. i came out to cali in sept. ‘05,
transferring from boston to the los angeles accenture office. and within the
first few weeks i was staffed on a project up in san francisco (the client was
CSAA, basically AAA for the bay area). i worked in sf for about 9 mths, then had
to bounce between sf and phoenix for the next 4 months to help open up a brand
new call center in the phoenix area. the team that i worked with during that
time was absolutely the best experience i’ve had yet at accenture. good people,
good work, good times. sf is an amazing food city so please feel free to hit me
up for some of my recommendations. the best is that there are so many places
where you can get a great meal for around $15. phoenix was unbelievably hot
during the dead of summer, but come fall it’s absolutely gorgeous.

so
that was basically my 2006. obviously there was a lot more than just work; on
the weekends, i’d spend most of my time down in orange county and up in la as
well. i was also able to head back to boston a couple times, a great family
reunion in martha’s vineyard in august and a family vacation to key west,
florida during the holidays.

after taking some time off in january to
attend some work training in chicago (where i met some very cool people from
italy, ireland, england, poland and china), i was staffed back in the bay area
in february ‘07. this time the client was washington mutual bank (wamu) in the
east bay, not as happening a place as sf i must add. after completing my project
at the end of march, i was sent up to the wamu corporate office in seattle to
help with another project with the same client. seattle’s a beautiful city, when
it’s not raining. if you’re ever there, you have to go to pike place market,
it’s basically a huge indoor/outdoor farmer’s market. that was pretty much my
lunch spot during the week. and being from mass, i consider myself a big time
chowdah snob, but i was VERY impressed with their chowders ( <http://www.pikeplacechowder.com/>
http://www.pikeplacechowder.com/)
they actually won an award at the great chowder cook-off in rhode island back in
‘06!

so now the big news. during my time in seattle, an opportunity came
my way to work for accenture out in tokyo, japan. so i put my name in the hat,
they interviewed me and extended the offer to go out there. i couldn’t pass it
up, so it looks like i’ll be going to tokyo in the second week of august! but
before heading out there, i’ve taken a short leave of absence from work. the
executive out there also advised that i take some time off because they’re gonna
work me to the bone when i get out there. so i started my "summer vacation" back
in mid-may. i’ve been spending some quality time with friends and family,
started studying japanese, and just enjoying la while i’m out here.

so
come august, a new phase begins. like i mentioned before, i just couldn’t let
this opportunity pass me by. as most of you know, i’m pretty prone to packing up
and heading out somewhere. and now’s the time, being single and i have always
wanted to get some international experience. so the nomadic life continues in
august. tokyo has no idea what it’s in for…or do i have no idea what i’m in
for??? ;)

as for my contact info, i’m always reachable by email  <mailto:chudoctah@hotmail.com> chudoctah@hotmail.com. my AIM screen
name is still chudoctah (don’t laugh, it was from high school) and my msn
messenger is  <mailto:ericchu931@hotmail.com> ericchu931@hotmail.com. i’ll send out
my cell number (in japan) and address when i get them. and my current cell # is
still the same until i leave 646.207.4095.

again, sorry for the mass
email! i hope all is well and please let me know how you’ve been doing.

love you chu family!

peace,
eric

ps- if you wish
to unsubscribe from future eric chu update emails, too bad. just kidding ;) just
let me know and i won’t clutter your inbox anymore!

no laughing matter…

April 17th, 2007 by chudoctah

ok,
not that the shootings in VA were anything to laugh about whatsoever.
but here’s a quick AIM convo i had with my boy john (korean) on the
potential after effect for asians that was pretty funny:

[13:24] itbemej0hn: set koreans back 5 years
[13:24] itbemej0hn: that idiot

[13:25] chudoctah: i kno man f’real. i got nervous when they kept saying Asian male
[13:25] itbemej0hn: SOUTH KOREA even gave an official apology???
[13:25] itbemej0hn: why the hell should south korea be apologizing?
[13:25] chudoctah: haha
[13:25] itbemej0hn: it jus makes us all look guilty when it was one douchebag
[13:25] chudoctah: i know rite. that’s how well they know americans
[13:25] itbemej0hn: indeed
[13:26] chudoctah: cuz u know now there’s gonna be plenty of hate crimes against any asians down in VA now
[13:26] itbemej0hn: yep
[13:26] chudoctah: and probly elsewhere
[13:26] itbemej0hn: my dad called me
[13:26] itbemej0hn: and told me
[13:26] itbemej0hn: to stay in
[13:26] chudoctah: haha, except for asian clubs. where we can hang with the other asian terrorists
[13:27] itbemej0hn: if that kid is from va…i bet you that i know someone that knows him or his family
[13:27] itbemej0hn: gay
[13:27] chudoctah: probly
[13:27] itbemej0hn: great…the parents owned dry cleaners
[13:27] itbemej0hn: way to break the mold
[13:27] chudoctah: HAHHAHAHAHAHAA
[13:27] chudoctah: OH JEEZ…
[13:27] itbemej0hn: another 5 years
[13:27] itbemej0hn: chalk it up
[13:28] chudoctah: "the ASIAN male also reeked of kimchee as he entered the classroom"
[13:28] itbemej0hn: haha
[13:28] itbemej0hn: hahahahaha
[13:28] chudoctah: lol
[13:28] itbemej0hn: and as he set down his pork bun and calculator
[13:28] itbemej0hn: to get his gun
[13:28] chudoctah: HAHAHHAAHHAHAHHAAHHAHAAHHA
[13:28] chudoctah: sources say he also had a pingpong paddle in his vest
[13:28] chudoctah: and was yelling, "HURRY UP AND BUY!!"
[13:28] chudoctah: lololol
[13:29] itbemej0hn: hahaha
[13:29] itbemej0hn: he stormed away in a suped up honda civic with a loud exhaust and stickers everywhere
[13:30] chudoctah: LOLOLOLOLOL

ding! pt. 2

March 16th, 2007 by chudoctah

ok, so i never made it to boston this weekend.  sooo
disappointed.  to recap one of the most disappointing travel/airport
experiences i’ve had:

my original connection was from LAX to BOS on thurs night at 10:45pm and i
should have arrived in BOS at 7am on friday, therefore giving me the whole
weekend to chill with the fam.  but i missed my connection in LAX (i was
flying from my project in OAK) because of fog in LAX, which to my knowledge
doesn’t happen that frequently.

so i get to LAX at 11pm thurs nite and i get rescheduled for friday morning at
8am to arrive in BOS at 5pm.  and it was guaranteed first class because
the agent in OAK hooked me up by holding that seat for me as a back up.
go jacqueline!!

i now have 7 hours to kill so i decide to hop in a cab to chill in the comfort
of my own home (see original ding! post below).  i get home, then realize,
my cell is dead, but my charger is still in my check-in at LAX.  so i’m
screwed cuz that’s what i use for my alarm.  so i decide to stay up all
night (and play GOW, only one of the best video games ever) until i gotta leave
for LAX.

but then i have to call for a friggin cab back to LAX!  so after a real
quick google search, i find that yahoo has a really cool voice call function
through their yahoo messenger.  you’re actually able to call from your PC
to an outside telephone number, not just from PC to PC.  so i subscribe
and put $10.00 towards the account and am able to call for a cab.
sweet.  score one for team chu.

so i stay up for the next 7 hours playing video games online.  at one
point (from about 4am to 6am), it was just me and 7 japanese dudes playing
together because there wasn’t anyone loserish enough to be playing in my own
time zone.  then i shower up and hop in my cab to catch my 8am nonstop to
BOS.  i couldn’t wait to recline in first class and wipe my face down with
the warm towel they always give you.

i get to LAX and find out, ALL flights to BOS have been cancelled because of a
snowstorm hitting new england.  ouch, big hit to team chu.  it was
like the other team draining a buzzer beatin 3 for the win (to keep with the
spirit of march madness).  they hand me a pink sheet that says flights are
cancelled throughout the northeast and to call the united 800 number or go to
united.com to try to rebook.  problem, my phone is dead.  so i go
over to the pay phones in which you can use your credit card.  nice cuz i
had no change.  problem is they don’t have ANY clear directions on how to
dial an 800 number (or i may have just been so cracked out i couldn’t figure it
out at this point).

so now i just pray that my luggage wasn’t sent on an earlier flight that was
connecting thru CHI.  i go down to baggage claim and they tell me they’re
droppin all luggage that was supposed to go to BOS on carousel 4.  i’m
actually lucky here because other people’s luggage was noted as being sent with
the connecting flight thru CHI.

quick digression on that, the night before, walking to customer service to
rebook my flight, i saw this TALL korean dude.  i’m talkin like 7′3"
at least, huge.  then i see him when i get back to LAX this morning.
poor guy was stranded in LAX and tryin to get to BOS as well.  dunno why,
but i just felt worse for him cuz he was so freakishly tall.  is that
bad?  hahaha!  i actually googled ‘tall korean man’ and found
this:  http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/asiapcf/9809/25/nkorea.player/ but i don’t
think that was him, hahaha!

anyway, so my luggage on the other hand didn’t have any status since being
pulled off in LAX.  so i sit on the floor by carousel 4, and remember that
i just put $10 on the yahoo voice thing.  i turn on my laptop and i actually
get a wireless signal.  then i use my credit card to get the $10 one day
internet pass.  but for some damn reason, it wouldn’t connect to the
internet even though they just said they charged $10 to my card.
nice.  so now i’m pretty much delirious due to lack of sleep and actually
pass out on the floor against the wall for about 30 mins.  i get up and
check with the baggage rep and then she tells me it may actually be at carousel
1.  nice.  can anything go right today?

so i walk over to 1, and it’s there!  nice.  a small consolation for
the disappointing trip.  so now i charge my phone at an outlet by the
restrooms and call united to ask about any potential flights.  none
tonite, i could take one sat morning, but then i’m not flying 6 hrs, getting
into BOS sat night, then have to fly back to OAK sunday afternoon.  so i
call the fam to break the news i can’t make it for my little brother to legally
buy me a beer then i head to hertz to get a rental car to go home.

so i guess it could’ve been worse, i could’ve been stuck in CHI, or my luggage
only could’ve been stuck there.  but it still sux i couldn’t get out there
to see the fam.  so now i’m back at the pad, tired, hungry and watching
malcom in the middle…

damn you boston weather!!

ding!

March 16th, 2007 by chudoctah

i
should be on a flight right now to boston.  instead, my flight was
delayed from OAK to LAX so i missed my connector to BOS.  but at least
it was in LAX, so i’m able to chill in the comfort of my own home for 6
hours until i gotta head back.  do i sleep in my comfy bed?  or just
stay up and play gears of war hmmm…

so i’m goin back to boston for my "baby" brother’s 21st bday (on
3/18).  so we’ll be doin the family dinner thing and so for his
birthday he can buy me a beer

aite, i’m out…scary faces…

decisions, decisions…

March 12th, 2007 by chudoctah

so i’ve come to another one of life’s ‘crossroads’.  this one dealing with work/career.

so my buddy got a job up in the bay area for a boutique consulting firm and is askin me to at least interview since they’re hiring like it’s goin outta style.  but if i got the job that would mean movin up north and being based out of santa clara…not so enticing.  but there could be a chance to travel to their other offices in london and tokyo…enticing.  and a potential 35% salary increase?  enticing again…

then the next day after i had that conversation, i get an email from my buddy from high school.  he and his gf moved to singapore back in january, and her HR consulting firm is lookin for an experienced consultant to help with their asia operations.  no idea about pay, but definite travel all over asia…also enticing

THEN, the next day after that email, i get an email from an accenture colleague.  the tokyo accenture office is looking to expand their group and recruit people from other accenture offices.  i’d stay based out of LA, but be working all my projects in japan.  they would provide an apt in the center of tokyo, language training, 1 fly back to the states/year…sickly enticing, but it’s a long term deal, the assignment duration is a minimum of 1 year going up to 3 years.  not sure about pay, i think i’d keep my current salary (which wouldn’t be enough to buy myself B-A-N-A-N-A-S in tokyo), then after my 3rd year, i’d transition to local pay (no idea if that’s good or bad).

so 3 viable options within a week’s time.  THEN chippendales called me last night to try out for the thunder down under show in vegas…juuuuust kidding.  but when it rains it pours though right.  so then then that brings up the whole interview process.  i haven’t had an interview in about 4 years.  i have NO clue what to say anymore.  i can picture it going something like this:

recruiter: so tell me about some of your strengths?
me: uuuhh, well i was vice president of my class for all 4 years… (shit, that was in high school).  uhhh, i was in the breakdance club… (shit, that was in college).  uhhh, i love star wars…
recruiter: yeeeahhh, we’ll get back to you.  you can show yourself out, thanks.

honestly though, i would be fine with the interview crap (i hope), but i just gotta get motivated and update my resume and all that.  my latest resume that i had was last modified on 6/19/2002.  so yeah, it’s been a while, but it wouldn’t hurt to go out just to see what you’re worth right?  i’m leaning towards i absolutely should.  maybe accenture will counter offer to keep me if i threaten to leave (riiiiight).  it also comes down to location too.  i’ve only had my apt in west la for not even 2 months, but i absolutely love socal.  but singapore, tokyo??  c’mon.

would love to hear anyone’s thoughts on this.  that is, if anyone actually reads this junk…

peace,
chu

losing my blog virginity

March 6th, 2007 by chudoctah

ok,
so here’s the first ever blog entry of my life.  never thought i’d be
doing this xanga-esque type deal, but what the hell.  i’ve been
derelict with my trademark chu update emails (which i’ll try to get one
out soon), but i figure this should do for now.

so an exhausting day at work and infomercials can be bad.  i came this close to buying an aerogarden (see video below and http://www.aerogrow.com/):

this close…anyway, that’s it for now.  nothing exciting for the first time, but i guess that’s most often the case right?
